African Girls Can Code Initiative
An African Union's initiative to equip the young women with practical competitive ICT and Creativity skills for sustainable self-reliance, livelihoods, sustenance of a healthy job market and key vital element to economic growth of Africa.
Over the years there has been a wide gender disparity on girls undertaking STEM subjects in Kenya 35% Few interventions have been put in place to empower girls and women but still gender parity in STEM subjects has not been realized. 500 (in and out of school from low income communities) girls – are being equipped annually- with skills in digital literacy, coding, personal and interpersonal development.
Secondary and high school students are exposed to creative coding and innovation, that would inspire them to discover and pursue career options within ICT and coding.
